The island sits at the edge of the Ten Thousand Islands and Rookery Bay estuary — a maze of mangrove channels, sandbars and barrier islands that hides Marco's best beaches, the richest shelling on Florida's Gulf coast, and pods of resident bottlenose dolphins. You can't access most of it any other way.

Why we don't list more boat operators
We're picky on purpose. There are plenty of group boats on Marco — we just don't think they deliver the kind of trip people remember and brag about. The two operations above consistently get the best feedback from readers we've sent their way, so that's who we point you to. If you'd rather book elsewhere, that's totally cool — the rest of this site stays just as useful.
For non-boat water fun (jet skis, parasailing, paddleboards) Marco has several well-rated rental outfits. Those don't compete with private tours, so feel free to mix and match.
